I am NOT a doctor, nor do I play one on TV.

Well-delivered hypnotherapy can be a profound benefit in many areas of physical and mental health. However, it is not only common sense, but for legal reasons that I do not treat illness directly. If you are ill, please see a licensed health care provider for diagnosis and treatment, preferably one you know and trust.

In consultation with your healthcare provider, you may determine that some changes in your attitude, life style or emotional life would be useful in your healing (for example, stress reduction or weight loss). That's where I can help. If you are unwilling to see such a licensed provider for emotional or 'phobic' reasons, please call me; we can very likely work in a limited way so you are then able to get the diagnosis and treatment you need.

Bad feelings, whether physical or emotional, have a purpose. Often, they are a message to our conscious mind to pay attention to an urgent need, to make a change in behavior. For example, if I get a sharp pain when I put weight on my foot, I am alerted immediately to a possible injury, and I can have it checked out. When you have acted on such warning messages and found no medical disorder, it may be that you have an alarm sounding without reason. It is not at all uncommon for physical or emotional bad feelings to get stuck to otherwise neutral trigger sensations, just as an 'accident of life.' Restoring these feelings to their normal function is a particularly good use for hypnotherapy. (You don't want to disable the warnings, just make them accurate, and therefore useful.)

I am happy to consult with your health care provider and offer perspective on how my services may complement their own. I have experience with assisting in a wide variety of medical and mental health issues including preparation for and recovery from surgery, cancer treatment, stem-cell replacement and other serious health issues.
